Lindsey O. Simmons

Lindsey Simmons was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 18, 1979. She was admitted to the Alabama Bar in 2005, and is admitted to all state and federal trial courts in Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama (B.A., English/Public Relations, 2001) and from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University (J.D., 2004). Lindsey manages the firm’s South Alabama office in Daphne.

For her skills, Lindsey was honored to be  selected by her peers as a "Top Lawyer" in 2018 and 2019 in both the areas of Workers' Compensation and Employment law as published by Birmingham magazine.  She was named as a “Top Lawyer” in Birmingham magazine as well in 2012, 2015, and 2016.  Lindsey has also been named in 2018 as a  “Top Lawyer” by B-Metro magazine, and was previously named a  “Top Woman Lawyer” and "Top Lawyer" by B-Metro magazine in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Lindsey was also chosen as a “Rising Star” in a 2015 special edition of the Birmingham Business Journal. Lindsey was also named as a 2017 AV Top Rated Lawyer: Women Leaders in the Law.  In addition, Lindsey is a member of the 2016 Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group’s Hall of Fame.

Lindsey received an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review, which is a significant accomplishment and testament to the fact that her peers rank her at the highest level of professional excellence.

Lindsey is very active in local and statewide bar organizations; she formerly served as the President of the Alabama State Bar’s Workers’ Compensation Section. She also served as the Chairperson of the Alabama Association for Justice Workers’ Compensation Section and the Chairperson of the Birmingham Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section.

Lindsey’s record jury verdict in ultra-conservative Shelby County for a worker fired because of his workers’ compensation claim quadrupled the prior high verdict for that county in that type of case.

Growing up in Hueytown, a suburb of Birmingham, Lindsey knew from a very young age that she wanted to become a lawyer. This desire came from being around her uncle, also a Birmingham lawyer. At the age of seven, she told her parents she would go to law school one day. Lindsey worked for her uncle during her summary vacations while at college, and became more determined to make her dream of becoming a lawyer come true. Lindsey and her husband Hunter live in Fairhope and stay busy enjoying life with their 6-year-old son, Sawyer.

Lindsey was also selected to be a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s MS Leadership Class of 2016, committing her time and effort to the Society’s mission: creating a world free of MS.
